The Fetch & Fold is a performance ball launcher designed to enhance the relationship between a dog and its owner through the game of fetch.
Fetch - This design allows the human user to throw a ball up to 3X farther than throwing with their hand, thus allowing the user to play longer with their dog.
Fold - This design allows for easy storage and makes transporting your launcher to and from the dog park an enjoyable experience.
Development
Each project can have a different starting point and reason for being. This project started out as an annoyance that happened when trying to walk your dog to and from the dog park and having to carry a long launcher that did not easily stow anywhere.
3D Printed initial concepts
Concepting
The starting point for this project was to figure out a good way to make a traditional 25” launcher break down to a smaller size. I developed a few different ways for us to accomplish this, then I proceeded to 3D prototyping.
Prototypes (Proof of concept/Testing)
Testing
The concept testing phase encompassed quite a few iterations and prototypes ranging from kit-bashed hand made models to prototype tooling. During this phase I worked directly with a number of teams to develop testing protocols for durability and safety.

The final product has allowed the user to have a compact launcher that rivals the performance and durability of other launchers on the market.
